Your suction cup may fall from the windshield at some point. This can be due to a number of factors, however cleaning the suction cup and the windshield are often all that is needed to get your detector mounted and running again.
Cleaning the Suction Cup
To clean the cup, follow these instructions as closely as possible.
- Remove the mount from the radar detector before proceeding with cleaning.
- Using warm running water and clean hands, rub around the edges of the silicone ring and remove as much lint and debris as possible
- Once you've cleaned the cup, shake out any excess water and set the suction cup to air dry. Do not attempt to manually dry the suction cup.
Cleaning the Windshield and Remounting the Cup
- Clean off the spot on the windshield with a lint-free alcohol wipe, then set the suction cup onto the windshield and lock down the suction lever.
- Leave the mount to cure for 24 hours, if possible, before putting weight on it.
If the mount continues to fall, a replacement will be necessary. Contact support using the information at the bottom of this page.
Important Care Instructions
Do not damage the silicone ring's surface; damage may occur from use of chemical cleansers and detergents, abrasive sponges, microfiber cloths, paper towels or other cleaning/drying tools that may leave behind films or damage the surface of the silicone.
